In 1951, António Pinto Carvalho was born, the visionary behind APC Musical Instruments. Founded in 1976, the company has a rich history in crafting high-quality stringed instruments.
António Pinto Carvalho's passion for the art of stringed instruments began at the age of 10 when he learned the techniques from his grandfather. These early steps led him to build his first cavaquinhos and guitars. Today, he is a prominent figure among Portugal's luthiers and has passed on his dedication to his wife and children, who are also fully devoted to the craft.

With a team of about 50 employees, APC Instrumentos Musicais stands out not only as the largest company in its field in Portugal but also as one of the largest in Europe. Our production encompasses a wide variety of instruments, distributed worldwide. Merging tradition and technology, the company aims to achieve the utmost precision and accuracy in crafting cordophones. Each instrument is a unique piece, where the manual dexterity of a 19th-century luthier meets 21st-century technology.
